Petya Kokudeva’s visit at the European School 1 in Luxembourg

May is beautiful in Luxembourg and I have been enjoying the spring and sun so far. Feeling energetic and motivated as usual, I’ve helped organize a meeting with a Bulgarian children’s author at our school, European school 1. I had this idea of inviting Petya Kokudeva, a Bulgarian writer for children, just after publication of her new (4th!) book – hot from the press. It has been very exciting to see the children attending the Bulgarian classes at the school talking with her, asking and answering questions, participating in games. The children were happy to get their books signed by the author and to get a small card with an illustration by Romina Beneventi, the wonderful illustrator of Petya’s books.

Ms Kokudeva had a meeting with the teenagers from the secondary school, too. It was interesting to hear her stories about her round the world trip and adventures, stories about different people, languages and cultures, customs and problems (yes, people and problems go hand in hand, it seems, everywhere in the world). Based on her travel experience, she told the youngsters how to look for writing motivation, how to keep a daily diary of their travel experiences of humans, animals, culture, survival.

Pictures from these meetings are to follow soon.

Happy New Year to one and all! I hope we all enjoy a good, happy, healthy and wealthy 2018 year!

With January well progressing already, I am going to continue with the English tuition and also planning to start a group in Creative Writing or simply Writing for children, depending on the demand.

English for beginners (children) resumes from mid-January, on Saturday morning, at my place in Bofferdange. A session is 60 minutes. Please, ask for details, if interested.
I have 1-2 spots available in this group! Please, ask if you are interested. Location: Bofferdange

Creative Writing for children will present the basic elements of building a story, stages of the narrative, building a character, building a conflict and finding the right ending for the story. The course will also involve teaching Visual Mapping of a story – a practical way of analyzing and planning the story.

Options for young readers or even early years will be the Storytelling Club where children can learn to tell stories and use Visual Mapping as a way of learning the basic elements of a narrative. Suitable for artistic, creative children who will have to draw the illustrations at home or prepare some props for the story presentation.

Academic English or Essay Writing – this course will be suitable for school children who want to learn how to present a topic in the form of an essay. They will learn to analyze, collect information, build a plan, organize the language to write the essay.

The Business English course is suitable for all those professionals who have to use English for work in a business environment, to a high level, both orally and in a written form. The course is suitable for all professionals who work in a client-facing role, such as real estate agents, office workers, or people who need a high level of English for work in communications, etc.

Most of the above are potential options based on your custom needs and demand. If you are interested in any of the above options, do not hesitate to contact me.
